Digital Story 2

What? This week we were taught one way to make a digital story on Photo Story. My group has decided to make our digital story on immigration. We have already found lots of pictures and now we just need to start putting it together.

So What? I think that digital stories are a neat way to hook in my students into a subject I am about to teach. I am a very visual person so I think that it is a great way to learn about something. You can pretty much so anywhere, teach anything using a digital story and I know that my future students would really respond to something like that.

I am excited to try this new technology to me out. I love movies and I think it will be a fun way to teach and to learn something. When we were being taught how to do it on Photo Story I was actually surprised how easy it is to do. I know that I can use this technology in my future class and they can really gain something from it.

Now what? When I watch a movie it really impacts me. I can lose myself in it. I know that it does not only have a visual impact but music and sounds can also help enhance the senses. I remember movies very well. They have a lasting impression on me. They get me thinking, guessing, and wanting to know more. This is exactly what I want my students to feel when they watch a digital story that I make.

Students learn many different ways. I want to try lots of different ways to get them to understand and retain the information I am trying to teach them. I think that teaching them by using a digital story. I also think that my colleagues will appreciate my ideas and see how effective they can be. This is just another step and tool to use to help me to become the best teacher I can be.
