What? This week my partner and I really got started on our webquest. We started it up on a PowerPoint. We call it "Where is Flat Stanley". It is based on a book were one little boy is flatten and sent around the world through the mail. We are going to have our students look for a lost souvenir of Stanleys'. While are students are looking they will be learning about the geography of the world.
So What? I think as teacher using webquest to teach a lesson will really get my students involved. As a student I am learning so much just making it. I am becoming more computer savvy. I think we are doing this because it is a great way to bring technology in the classroom. I can learn so much making this webquest that I can make so many more and create a great collection for my students.
This technology will change how my students learn. It will be more interactive and the students and learn so much on their own. My colleagues will see how great this webquest effects my students that they will want to try it with their students.
Now What? I want my students to become more efficient. They use the webquest step by step to complete the task. They will learn about what the lesson has to offer and they will become more knowledgeable about working on the web. I would also hope that they were have fun while they were at it too. I had never heard of a webquest before so I am very excited to try it my class someday.
I know that I can also have my class collaborate to complete a webquest together. I could my lesson be a mystery and they have to work together using webquest to find the answer. I never see a webquest used in any other class that I have observed in either so I think it will make me a better teacher because it will make more inventive. I know that we could also use a webquest to maybe explain the rules of the school as a department.
